Dance like no one is watching.

Due to the fact it is Mother's Day and things are not going well as I had hoped with my children I uploaded this video of my children dancing. I am sharing a happier time for them. Don't be afraid of where you come from and remember to Dance Like No One is Watching!

It's Easter Weekend!

nullFor everyone whom believes in Easter have a great Easter Weekend! I am keeping this blog short and sweet.

Easter is supposed to be a religous holiday. Then why is it that we see so many people in the stores racing for all the candy, toys and stuffed animals? These so-called Christians have turned this into a material holiday just as they have every other holiday through out the year. I am very sickened by the disgusting display these unmoral people make each year.

Society as a whole needs to change their outlook on the way they do things. I constantly hear people asking why do children act the way they do. HELLO! They are coddled and allowed to act any way they want to act. If I had spoken or looked at my grandmother the way these kids do their very own parents I would have had my butt beat. I would have had my teeth knocked down my thoart for back talk. The government has appointed an agency to "protect" the kids and there is no one to govern that agency. Therefore they do as they wish. This same agency varies in name state to state but in each state they do the same thing. Parents are not allowed to parent without fear of this agency charging them and locking them up for spanking their children's butt.

Be a parent and choose not to particapte in this greedy ritual society has made up. Don't be scared to celebrate differently than society. Teach your children the true mean of the holidays in your religion. Don't fall into this money trap and buy the store with all the baskets, toys, candy, and bunny rabbits they want you to buy.

Top Reasons Not To Move In With Someone

Yes we all have our own strange habits but what are the deal breakers?

-talks in their sleep

-whines about anything (large or small)

-snores

-totally dedicated to one passion (Star Wars, Blades, Shirts with geeky sayings)

-talks on the phone loudly while you are watching television

-always has to say something to piss you off

-smacking….I mean come on you are not 2 yrs old anymore

And for the number one deal breaker is BAD HYGINE!

What are your pet peeves? Where do you draw the line when you live with someone?

Would You Let Your Friends Borrow Your Car?

Do you think your car is included in the clause in friendships? I know that all friends borrow things from each other but where do we draw the line?

I hear a lot of people end up with no car because they loaned it out. First, why would you loan your car to someone without checking to make sure the car is covered if it doesn't come back or comes back damaged? If you have been friends with this person for a while then you should know their driving habits! I have a few people I know that I would never get into the car with. I would never loan them my car if they were my friends.

Never ever loan your car to someone that has a wreck every few months!

What would you not loan to your friends? Do you have any friends that you would loan anything they asked?

One or More Gods?

Many people state they are Christian. They claim that is the only acceptable religion. It goes even further and many may try to convince you that their sector is the only acceptable form of worshipping your God. I believe that God takes many forms and names. Whether I say God, Allah, Abba, Alpha and Omega I am referring to the one God that exists.

Human nature is such that we were created needing a fundamental belief in a higher power. We must believe in something greater than ourselves. All humans believe they have God or a higher power that can and will help them in life. Believing in a higher power goes back to Paganism.

If you look at the Christian Holidays they are close to or on Wiccan Holidays. The most celebrated days Christmas and Easter are near the Winter and Spring Equinox. Each Equinox is celebrated by Wiccans to give thanks to the Goddess for the things that season brings. You have Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Equinox.

Beltane is a spring celebration that honors the fertility of the earth. It's a time of lust, passion, sex, fire, and abundance. Likewise Christians celebrate spring with Easter.

Samhain is known as the beginning of the New Year in many Pagan traditions. It's a time to honor our ancestors, celebrate the memories of the dead, and embrace the darker half of the year. For many Pagans, it's a season of reflection, divination, and spiritual growth. Samhain is October 31st also known as All Hallow's Eve in Christian faiths. All Saint's Day is November 1st.

Yule marks the winter solstice, and is a time to celebrate the return of the sun back to the earth. This is also the time of year that Christmas is celebrated by Christians.

This is true because when Christians attempted to convert Native Americans and Pagans they wanted to make them feel comfortable with the holidays.

Great Wolf Lodge – Grapevine, TX

First, I want to apologize for not blogging for a few days. I have been away with the family at this great little gem in Grapevine, TX called Great Wolf Lodge. If you haven't heard of this resort, click on the link above to see the expansive array of activities for children of all ages.

I came across this dream getaway location last December. From the waterpark to the arcade you can keep the kids busy all day long. I have three children ranging in ages from 7-12. The indoor waterpark has several big enclosed slides that wind in and out of the building before you land in the splash pool. One is for the entire gang and it will even make a memento of the ride with a picture you can purchase. You can keep the kids running with the huge water fort. The fort has several slides, activities and a huge bucket that tips and pours down on all the kids when it is full. There is also a wave pool and a pool that has basketball goals and even a walk for the kids to cross that moves in the water. One entire area is designed with the little guys in mind. They have a smaller fort, slides, fountains, and "jet skis" that spray water when they press the handle. There is a family hot tub as well. Most important there is an adult only hot tub.

Aside from the water park there is the Magiquest game that is a hotel wide scavenger hunt for all the children. Also kids of all ages can find fun in the arcade. A stuffing station gives exciting choices for a stuffed animal and outfit or hoodie to remember their stay by. Nightly you take your little wolves to the lobby for story time and a photo opportunity.

Tell me your favorite childhood memory from a getaway.

Ten Guilty Pleasures

What are your guilty pleasures? I know we all take some time to do things that we feel guilty for on some level. Especially if you are a parent! You must take some down time to recharge your mental health or you can't do what you do best. I know that in order for me to care for my loved ones and children to the fullest I must take at least thirty minutes out of every day to decompress. Here are a few things I like to do:

  1. Take a bubble bath
  2. Read a few chapters of a good book (preferably in that bubble bath)
  3. Lock the bedroom door and "disappear" to a virtual paradise in my mind
  4. Take a drive with the windows down and the music blaring
  5. Surf the internet, play online/installed games
  6. Listen to my favorite music and dance like there is no one watching
  7. Sing my heart out to my favorite music
  8. Spend some time with close friends
  9. Curl up with my loved one and watch movies and laugh together
  10. Take a nap

It has been proven that we as human beings need a little time each day to care for our own mental health. It is also proven that we do not care for the one thing that is most important…….Ourselves!

What are some of your guilty pleasures? Leave me comments and feedback on what you like to see featured here.

As I wait

As I sit and wait
My heart lurches each time the door opens
I look up and see my love
Watching his face and eyes.
I often wonder what he is thinking
Truly my love seems puzzled.
Oh so many times I have wanted to touch
To let him know I care
To let him know I love

Once upon a time I would have reached out
Once upon a time I would have let him know

How my heart and soul want to scream
Scream out my love for him
How I want to let my feelings show
To be allowed to show how I feel
Being allowed to let these feeling out is awesome
Although for now I will have to keep my feelings in
At this time only I will know
Who is this love of mine?
Oh how I wish I could tell.
Pray tell you say
Sorry my friend but for now this love will be my own little secret.

What is with today’s world?

I often ponder what is happening to the world as I knew it growing up. Twenty years ago the world was safe and we could play outside with our friends throughout the neighborhood from sun up to sun down. I fondly remember getting up and saying "I'll see you later" as I headed out the door. I would grab my bike and off I'd go to find my friends for a day of adventure and fun. We would start by rounding everyone up and riding for hours. We would often stop for a quick 3 on 3 basketball game. Girls against the guys and of course us girls would cream the guys. Jumping back on our bikes to go to the creek and hike through the woods. Oh the thrill of getting caught down in that creek made the hike worth every moment. At some point we'd head to someone's house for a quick lunch or snack and off we'd go again. Our parents never worried because they knew we were all together and out would be home before the street light hit our faces.

Today you can't let your children go and play in the neighborhood. There is too much evil abounding around every corner now. I question if it is more accepted by society that evil co-exists right here with us or is it more noticeable than it once was. I have three children on the brink of being teenagers and it saddens me that I am not able to allow them the freedom I had playing with friends. Today you are not even able to trust they will be safe at your town mall.

What can be done to change the world we live in? Can it be changed? Leave your thoughts and comments for me.

Lost in the Dark

Lost in the dark
Not knowing which way to go
New feelings aroused
Confused by the thoughts
Hearing voices telling different stories
Each one pulls a different way
Each one expects you to walk their way
One by one you battle the feelings and thoughts
Finally you are down to just two
Inside your head there is a battle
Unknowingly, each is pulling you to their side
As you try to pull away and make your decision known it becomes...
Oh so obvious how someone feels...
Once again you become

LOST IN THE DARK!

Has Karma Finally Gotten Her Hands On Japan?

Once again Japan has been struck by a force of nature. Late Thursday a 7.1 earthquake hit Japan. This is the second one since the tsunami on March 11.

There are many people whom believe all of this is karma's way of returning the enegry Japan sent out when they bombed Peal Harbor all those years ago. Now I ask, is it possible? Do you believe in Karma?

Karma is a law in Hinduism which maintains that every act done, no matter how insignificant, will eventually return to the doer with equal impact. Good will be returned with good; evil with evil. With the fact that Hindus believe in reincarnation karma can will not know a simple birth/death boundary. If good or evil befalls you then you can know it is because of something you did in this or a previous lifetime. This is why many people belive the tsunami and earthquakes are karma's way of returning the evil done on December 7, 1941.

People that believe in Karma believe that what goes out comes back ten-fold. Looking at the facts it seems that is to true. On the day Pearl Harbor was bombed 3,500 people were killed or wounded in 2 horrible, terrifying waves of bombing. It is believe that the death toll is around 30,000 for Japan at this time between the 2 earthquakes that have hit the country.

Now with that information I ask you once again.............. Is it Karma?

Legacy Of Imperial Dragons

Dragons are mythical creatures that have origins in China. The Chinese character for dragon, long (J., ryu), can be seen in the ancient oracle bone inscription, jiaguwen, which was created in the Shang dynasty from the 17th to 11th century B.C., as well as in the gold lettering on bronze vessels that were cast during the following Zhou dynasty (1100-256 B.C.), indicating the early connection between the ancient Chinese and dragons. Huainanzi (The Nobles of Huainan), a compendium dated to the late second century B.C., introduces various types of dragons-feilong ("flying dragon"), yinglong ("small dragon"), jiaolong ("scaly dragon"), and xianlong ("primordial dragon")-from which birds, animals, fishes, and crustaceans evolved. In other words, the dragon was the origin of all animals, and its existence was thought of as a kind of creator god. Perhaps for this reason, dragons were described as having "nine similarities"-horns like a deer, head like a camel, eyes like a demon, neck like a snake, belly like clams, scales like fish, claws like a hawk, paws like a tiger, and ears like a cow. Truly a vision of creativity! Transforming robots on cartoons don't even come close in imagination. With these monstrous features, dragons reign over all other animals and became the most auspicious of beasts. However, these magnificent creatures that were originally supposed to roam the sky came to be bound by the emperor's power and locked away within his imperial robe. From then on, the dragon became the symbol of the imperial ruler of China This robe, which the emperor wore during the most important ceremonies, had twelve motifs that symbolized the twelve virtuous qualities of a noble. Among these motifs, the ever-transforming dragon represented the ability of a nobleman to rule flexibly according to the era. The twelve virtues were said to been established in ancient times by the legendary sage king Shun, again showing that dragon designs were created quite early, though at this point, they did not yet symbolize power and authority. It was during the Tang dynasty (618-907) that dragons came to adorn the emperor's robe as the symbol of power. In 693, a high official was presented with a dragon robe. To receive such a symbol of power from the emperor was quite an honor. Later, there were those who wore robes with dragon designs as they pleased. In 1297, small dragon designs on the front or back of one's clothes were permitted, however, large dragons that covered an entire outfit were forbidden. In 1315, a regulation stipulated that only the emperor could wear a two-horned, five-clawed dragon motif. It was then that the dragon became a symbol of power. The emperor's robes continued to be decorated with this two-horned, five-clawed dragon even into the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Subsequently, in the mid-fifteenth century, the emperor's loyal subjects came to be bestowed robes with four-clawed dragons, which were called mang. The feiyu, like the mang, had four claws; it also had fin-like wings on its torso and a fish-like tail. The douniu also had four claws, or in some cases, three claws, and a horn that curved outward like a water buffalo. All three of these dragon-like beasts became motifs on robes that the emperor presented to his retainers. Dragons were ultimately exclusive to the emperor, and mang, feiyu, and douniu, which resembled dragons, were made to look different, in order to differentiate the status of the wearer. In 1458, a prohibition against the misuse of the mang, feiyu, and douniu motifs was issued, and thereafter, several bans were established. I suppose in every age, there are people who want to put themselves above others. Finally, during the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), the emperor's retainers decorated their robes with a creature that looked exactly like a dragon, which they called mang. Perhaps the dragon, caught up in this power play, can no longer fly freely in the sky.

What "type" are you?

In relationships we tend to search for a certain "type" of person. One thing we don't do is determine whom we are before we start looking for our other half. I strongly believe that if you want to be happy in life you must "find" yourself before you find someone to be with. You must be happy and LOVE yourself as you are or make changes and then you can find someone to share life with that will LOVE you and be happy with you as you are.

I have been married and divorced. After my divorce I wondered if anyone would ever truly love me. I spent time thinking I would never be happy. And you know what I was right! As long as I continued with that way of thinking I was exactly right. It took a few months to a year to determine who I was again. I wasn't the person I was before I got married and I didnt' want to be the person my marriage had turned me into. I wanted to be better than that and to love myself. I found that I had to dig deep to find something I loved about myself at first. I had to learn to take compliments from men without cringing and thinking "yeah right." The first time I was told I was beautiful made me cry. Not cry is a sad way but happy cry. I was so happy because I felt beautiful and someone else saw that. Take the time to find yourself and love yourself before you expect someone else to find you and love you. Have a great day and check out the books I've listed here and in other blogs. Happy Monday!

The Answer to Relationships?

The Imperfect Man is a new twist on relationship books. It answers your questions in a tell-all fashion. If you are single or dating and want the secerts then buy this book.

A Really Good Laugh!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D.D. - Age Activcated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifest:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice the can is full. So I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside th house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it ocer. I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye they need to be watered. I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I planning to do.

At the end of the day:
the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water
there is still only one check in my check book
I can't find the remote
I can't find my glasses
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem, ad I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my email.

Do me a favour, will you? Forward this message to everyone you know because I don't remember to whom it has been sent. Don't laug - if this isn't you yet your day si coming!

Got a neighbor sounding like Dumbo?

Have you ever wanted to take a speaker and secure it to your ceiling to annoy your neighbors? If you have then maybe you have lived under my next door neighbors. LOL I mean geez don't they understand they can't sound as if they are dropping damn bowling balls on the floor 24/7. Maybe this can be a Public Service Announcement for all the obnoxious idiots out there in this world. Wait, that's ALOT of people LOL. Okay so here goes it....... IF you decide to live upstairs learn how to walk so you don't sound like Dumbo (no offense to Dumbo) to your downstairs neighbors. When you have your 3 year old brother over don't let him run. Yes kids will be kids but properly raised kids will not run in the damn house to begin with. I mean damn who running who? The kid or the adult? That's a whole other story for another day. And a pet peeve of mine.

So back to the speaker on the ceiling. I wonder how they would feel if they heard bass all day and night even at 3am. Hmmm I bet they would be mad. I bet they would want to cuss us out.

For now that's all folks.
